palpable magic
to begin,
every yoga teacher is different. every style of yoga is different. while we learned as students - in each practice, in the presence of our guru, absorbing every word and instruction - each and every one of us left with our own magic to guide and hold space in yoga.
when you find the teacher that resonates with you, they awaken something internal you know to be true.
the self.
your true self in all its beauty and light, in all its dark and ugliness.
so together, we begin. we stay present. we breathe. we find a quiet strength.
and we do the work.
we practice over and over and over again and again.
not for perfection, but for peace. the ultimate purpose of yoga leads you to self-awareness, inner peace, and ultimately; liberation from suffering. ease of suffering the mind, the heart, and the body.
yoga makes us feel, in present time. yesterday is different than today. and tomorrow is different from yesterday. we are never the same person we were or the same person we will be. life isn’t like that. sometimes things will shift us.
we practice in the moment of who we are, together. in real time.
a good teacher will guide you into : centering, breathing, meditation, postures, the vedas and the Bhagavad Gita. A good teacher will guide you to your own self knowledge and guide you to use your practice to understand yourself.
And this is where we begin.
Beginning as you are is enough.
I’ve found, after teaching yoga for all these hundreds of years, I refrain from teaching you how to find an asana or pranayama over a social media post.
I’m an analog girl in a digital world.
I will share beautiful videos, music, quotes, recordings from my teachers, because my hope is you feel something.
I truly believe in order to learn, we need to sit together. Breathe together. As you learn, you find you can leave your mat and weave your practice into your everyday life.
The purpose for my sentiment being, I realize as we continue our yoga together, we live in a digital world and we click hearts often. there’s a certain knowing that can only be felt when you join in a collective at Gaia.
together.
there’s a palpable magic you cannot feel through a screen.
after alL, Isn’t that what it’s all about?
A human connection?
To me, Yoga is aesthetically beautiful in its form, it is honorable in its humbling, and it is one of many ways we can become a more peaceful loving, compassionate human being.
We must be kind to ourselves.
We must ease the suffering of others.
In all the ways of love.
This is the sole reason I created the studio.
Gaia Shala.
Meaning Mother Earth and Home.
A nurturing space where everyone is welcome and our teachers have a Magic all their own.
So thank you for listening.
